Once upon a time, queerness was considered a crime Rainbows and queer knowledge was forbidden However, no one saw what was coming at the time A queer teen did not expect what was about to be given  
America the free, America the brave America where I am looked down upon for the cadence of my name America where my people are slaughtered in the streets America where murderers with a badge walk free
— again i see hate, violent suggestion that we are less less pure, less whole — and we aren't whole a gaping wound in a community we want closure for lives lost
