What a perfect illusion it is  living in a sugarcoated world is what it seems  living in a place where people are scared of the ones that are supossed to be protecing
Grain after grain it slips away..Into the endless abyss we call time.Second after second you take breathe not knowing if its going to be your last. Minute after minute you smile feeling like time has stopped.
You
bombs and deaths constantly go off millons of deaths, are just a cough tears and blood fills land but yet you just watch all this in the palm of your hand families and homes are destroyed in the blink of an eye
My mind is another place from where I live in I can imagine everyone with smiles and laughter
Our world: consequence, disease, reward, and inconvenience.  Smiles and laughs that entail crying--  And without even trying-- we acknowledge those who are dying.  Respect for the lost is given without proximity,
If you think there is less love in the world, Think again. Because I see love when a parent waits for his/her child, when a child does everything to make his/her parent smile.
What is the beauty in life you suppose? Maybe it's the way we never expect a suprise at every turn we make in our lives. Maybe its the way we expect every relationship that we get into, to last.
Living in a world where people are blind  Do these people really care about our kind?  Who knew our world become a mess People are becoming less  and less Shootings here and there, war is everywhere
Walking along the beaten path, the fall sun shines on me like a warm bath.  This forest is the last.   I am alone,  I am one with the world.  I feel the heart beat of a thousand creatures,
Singing with The Smashing Pumpkins      at sunset. Slumberous teenagers sinning      on swing sets. Soul mates trapped in      sundripped snapshots. Sipping a strawberry shake-      two straws.
You said you'd always be there  but now you don't even care.    I have no no idea who you've become  and it's not just me you walked away from.    It's yourself you gave away
I'm shedding tears for all the people we've lost just this year. From senseless violence to overgrown conspiracies, can't you see the enemy? They hide in plain sight so no can ever see.
I always thought that when I grew up I would be free No cares in the world with a little responsibility. No one ever told me about loans, mortgages & debt,
to test limits and defy explanation  to tread murky waters and not look back  to sour higher and higher and be able to look down  to concure fear with a flick of the wrist  to try
College Ruled Paper (But NEVER Wide Ruled.)   There's a call for change, for warmth, for compassion But you can only find these through blood colored ink on paper
What do you think when you see that girl walking across the street? With her head held down, eyes forward, feet flat on the ground, the hijab covering her head full of disparaging thoughts?
We the (conniving & coy) We the (sullen & somber) We the heartaches the heartbreaks. Quell the earths quakes with equivalent exchange of natural disasters-
I am not a poet, And when I do I try, I put myself down, And give up every time.   I am not a poet, Though I would like to be. I find I can never express My feelings accurately.

Maybe it was my realization that placement of words and spaces could literally shake a nation, Wake a generation, stir a congregation, or transform no way into more ways.

Pain.  Controlling. Mind numbing.  The world beckons.  It calls.  Envelops you in its ice-cold arms.  A ray of hope glimmers and peaks through the cracks.  Hope.  Years of pain, slowly melting.
Everyday people wake up to the same old routines we kick off the blankets, stretch, then stare into space wondering just how the day may play out ; will the day be blue or grey?
Poetry is both processing and process.  Poetry is the naming and the name.  Poetry is the discovering and the discovery.  Poetry is primal; it is breath and emotion and creation.
I saw the farthest star from here and I knew that was real  I raised my hand and reached my finger tips up, out, and past this Earth  Until I was one with the rest of the universe Until I was bigger than the farthest star
A world dealt with the aftermath of countless lifetimes laden with crueltyA world in turmoil and controversyA world trying to expand and trying not to expandSuch is the world I was born into. Not everybody is happy.
We cannot even describe the way We look at you every single day.   You, the tormentors, the ignorant, the sinners, Yet also the popular, the loved, and the winners.
The meaning Is so unclear And yet plain A true paradox This simple word It traps me Stabs me Gives me bliss Makes me feel As light as a feather It makes me vulnerable
It hurts again This familiar pain The ache in your chest The depressing rain The gloomy sky So high above It feels cold And chilly And somehow wet And it feels like
She walked in the room quite unsure of herself, Everyone peered up towards her self conscious frame, She felt like the last book picked on the shelf, The girl sat alone in the corner knowing she'd never feel the same.
When we were children, we believed that growing up was the way to freedom. That maybe if we were just a little bit older, we could destroy our demons. But somehow we found out the truth.
Staring up at the midnight sky, hear the quiet passing by. We can't get those thoughts out of our head, so we keep them in until we are dead.   Twinkling stars that are shining so bright,
I didn’t want to wake up. I wanted to play dead Being blind and not even knowing it Daily activities going through life in a daze Running, always chasing trying not to be caught
Smiles are sunrises and spring flowers. They rise and grow from the joys of life. So smile.  And bring beauty into this world.
Throughout our childhoods,  we’re taught to trust in the things shoved down our throats by the tv screens, We don’t know they're lies of course,  It’s all so real to us, it’s all we know,
I’ve always wondered how wonderful the world would be if we all just embraced each other A hug for one person to another A kiss to make somebody’s day Some loving to make the pain go away
If I was an inanimate object I wouldn't feel the things I feel But If I was an inanimate object Nothing would be quite as real I'd never be sad
Empty pages that stare back, So pure and clean, Untainted with words, And the markings of my imagination. Was that not how I was before? Ignorant, and in bliss Not caring for the world.
Thanks for the reminder That what I do is worth nothing At least when it means nothing to you. Though it means the world to me. Thanks for the reminder That I "waste" my time
Take a beautiful girl And hide her away from the rest of the world  But one day Gotta let her out Off she goes
In a world with billions of people A world with you and me A world with creatures of all shapes and sizes That roam free and wild
A world without color is a dreary world at best, For I wouldn’t see the red dragons on Grandma’s vest, I wouldn’t see the brown ochre of a bird’s new nest,

You are a florescent bulb And the world is a room It is not a dark room But it is dark to you   You must find a socket Discover the grooves And take the twisting the world has done to you
Why are there so many things in this world to worry about? Why do I wait and wander in my worries when I could be doing something fun  like making babies or going on journeys? Why is the world so mean?
when i say you are beautiful i am not forgetting.   perhaps in beauty nature boasts the pain of life   and within you uncorrupted lays a secret garden   and within you
The rhythm of my heart is no rival For the movement of your wandering eye. Her lithe figure signals her arrival My cadence lulls, watching, undignified
Why cant the world be friendly? Why cant money grow on trees? Why cant the sick be healthy? Why are people mean? Why am I so happy when you are so sad? Come on friends and smile, You can change it all.
When I think poverty, here's what I see, Beaten down faces and thousands of frowns Shutdown dreams in the land of the free
It is weird that I am here.  Trapped.  On a beautiful island I cannot call my home.  I have no cell phone, no coffee, no friends of my own.  Deserted, I feel..alone.
Back and forth Back and forth Scanning the lines Finding the rhymes Eyes flicker and flit Watch the words split Feeling the pain Dancing in the rain Alongside the unsung hero
On this island it's just me and you.  You have everthing I need all in one.  Without you it's like I'm missing what is important to me.  On this island it's just you and me.
What is left of the past, When we walk down the streets, The ones we lived upon,  And the seem to be an empty memory. The faded pictures of people we knew, An old recording of me and you.

Crumpled emotion flows through our bones, running and tugging and screaming "Go home!".  Through it all we crack and crumble, pouring our heart out onto the rubble.
A crime each day Took care of by people What should we pay? Should we go more to the steeple?   Why do we do such things? How can we be mean? Hear the church bell ring
As humans develop coming from a small origin. I learned that life will be worthless without humor.  Ladies and Gentleman, humor will bring the smell of spring and the scenes of summer to you.
I sit here in the corner not wanting to breath I feel like I have no one here to protect me Hearing my mother scream and shout
When a baby walks and falls we cheer yelling do it again! Try again! When a kid can’t count to 100 he gets helped by his parents.
" I am a women of Power" with strength and matter, all girls matter, i am strong and made of steel, i can make all things come real, with a heart of gold my heart is my soul, I am a women,
Traveling is what many long for, To travel when and where you want. To travel the world is to live free, To live free, is to live happy.   Happiness is not a destination,
Most might say joy, love, hope, and sleep, However, I prefer the beauty of silence, With its daunting tones, And comfort it brings when I weep, The dramatic scene fostered by the cut of sirens.
There's a river I know, in the land of the dead, where many call home, and others may dread. There's a city I know, where the parties are gold, where the liquor is silver,

The day they said the world was to end and so the day the world waited for with fears   but no signs of it all and the day's work went as usual and on schedule and some as late as usual
Don't let your guard down... Everyone is coming, hitting me left and right Fists of emotional fury, is there a way out?  How did i come in? There might be a key... but what do i have to pay to get it?
What you see on the outside of me is a young freckled girl as confident as can be. She can stand and talk in front of people with ease, and take charge of situations in a breeze.

People judge by the mirror's expectations. They don't look inside with appreciation. Maybe people aren't always outwardly beautiful, But that does not mean their souls are dull.

Matter doesn't matter, it's chemicals that scatter. It's your food, it's air, it's water. It's human and nature. It's infinite space around us. It flows like rivers and falls like snow.
Let it go along with the flow
I am not that little girl The little girl who brings joy to the world The little girl who open's up hearts That girl was beautiful in so many ways
In this small world where we live in, Where "busy" is the only word leaving our mouths, Where our feet are stuck in the past, Is there any path towards the future? Without any thought about our actions,
Looking at the ground,
I am me in many ways I am different than everyone I know. I am a person with own desicions with own talents and aspirations. I am like a nomad who roams freely without rules only
Silent bliss and noisy joy, there's no method to the madness. A question with no complete answer.
Am I the child that begs? The child that wants more, Because I'm hungry but not for food? Am I the child that crawls? The child on hands and knees, Because I can't take a step but can walk?
In a World where Wrong is Right
It’s too small of a planet To say Earth is everything, To say the stars are there for beauty And the moon is there for peace.   It’s too great of a world To say God is false,
Beyond the sea lies the horizon.Go! Will you make it there? The snow flake will not hesitate to boast its intricacy. Examine! Can you see a pattern or perhaps a maze?
Johnny came to visit when I was nine He only had the chance to just that one time He still smiled as often as he always did But his smile seemed almost crooked I asked him why that was and he said:

The 21st century will come and go,
Sometimes I                         wonder why the world is just so                         unaccepting                                     of diversity.

Life is the sum of experiences, That we encounter as we go through every day and every second. Life is awesome. So awesome, that people on earth can’t believe what we see.

I sit in a room A dark and cold room A lifeless,
 colorless,
dank room   In the corner I sit I sit and wait I wait for hours From days to week
My bones were feeble My breath had weathered My voice can be heard as a bare, cracked whisper And I listen at how fragile we are... For which my lungs, they were thirsty for air
I travel the whole world
Blown away by the sails, Navy sent my man to other lands with his brothers in arms.
Stop the world for a second. Just what would you see? You'd see the sins of our people, but also miracles beyond belief.   Think of soldiers fighting, all for the sake of war.
The cracks in your trunk chunk together a sort of pattern,
The irony of cold Yet leaves still grow  The eyes in the sky keep on starring deeply into your signs What more can it be? Yet thy truthful growth of oneself turns away
Dogs don't fly, Chickens just die, Why try to get by, If we are meant to die? Are we alone on this dot? Suspended in space, so far from it all. But yet we kick and moan,
Come listen to my truest thoughts and my truest feelings. While we are die-hard living there are people that are shining and people that are crying.
End Of The World

When you're left alone
i have a friend who flew with the times and plummeted to the ground as his pocketful of rhymes sunk and spat and became one with the earth-- the ground upon which we dream still engraved with his words
Shades of black collide above, jostling each other Lines of stars bright and white, so vividly wild. Wind sheathing our bodies with every gust, Black leaves cascading downward into a dark swirl.
I watched a bluebird on a window sill She sat there placid, calm, and singing. We shared the morning sun out in the chill, We let its rays shine down on our faces; freezing.
In a moment
I've traveled the map of you -
A filter   Nothing but a misconstrued version of normal light Changing context from wrong to right   Take away this glass magnifying falsehoods and repressing flaws
You have one heart, love as much as you can. You have one brain, always be willing to learn. You have one soul, be peaceful. You have two lungs, appericate every breath you take.
I Wonder    I wonder how the world is going to be Because everything is a mystery.   We live in lies and fantasy That we forget what we truly see.
If there's one phrase that's hard to say, If there's something we don't want to think about each passing day If there's something that would make some of us want to cry,

Times are real hard they say, whether referring to the past or referring to today
Everything beautiful is either immensely frail or immensely strong. Memories, frozen in time, lasting one second. Lasting a thousand seconds. They are beautiful because they are so fleeting in our minds.

I'm perfectly and wonderfully made
Many girls all dream for this thing:
There would be ultimate peace among each and all countries, among individuals.  In my perfect little world.   There would be no crimes instead continuous laughter would
crazy that a 14 year old is too young to make choices but old enough to take responsibility   crazy that a 15 year old is not able to control his tongue
All I did was love you While you snuck out and gave your love to another But all she wanted was your money And now look who's the sucker   After you made me sign that waiver
Wishing upon peace,  hoping no one sees me, Taking a deep breath, hoping no one hears me, Walking through school campus vastly, having fear of being stopped, Smiling, but speaking no words,
What has happened to our world? Yes that's not the most creative line ever but seriously, what happened? What happened to respect or manners? What happened to loving your neighbor?
I am a bird, unnoticed but free
Even though I'm freckled and thick Even though I'm blind and poor Even though I'm short and white Your words don't hurt me anymore   I've come to learn what it's all about
They say there's no such thing as perfect But I happen to know that talk is cheap Flawless is the best thing to be To be who I am I must accept who I am Flawless is just an act that lays beneath
Life is our ball
The only way, it seems,
It's tough to be real In a world of hate and debt I keep to myself
We sore we fly, we fly into the future, present, and past. As a baby is born new, smooth, and warm
Time Night fades away, as the sun warms the air. The voices are still , the air is thinner today. Noon creeps above the clouds, as not even a sound has bound.
This world is so full of hate, so full of pain. People starve and go hungry, People war and die,
I hate it,
Between Creation and Destruction Lies creature, creed, cure, cry Desire, despair, and danger.
I am carbon  a diamond in the rough still dull with jagged edges I've been through heat and under lots of pressure but I still don't shine people look and stare in my direction
There is a lot of flaw In an adolescent girl Leading a women’s ministry, Judged by the world.   There is a lot of sadness In an adolescent girl Motivating others, Smiling at the world.
You can't see it but insults are weapons, actual weapons. Everydaycitizens use these weapons we were born with to harm other people.Wake up, words hurt. We, the people, we have been trained, and, we
When I used to look in the mirror, I would see A girl who struggled, but yet was sometimes pretty. I struggled with my relationship with my family. Although they clothed, fed, housed, and spoiled me,
When I dared to finally take my own steps, and when I dared to go my own direction, I found and learned about myself without the intention.   I left my home country and studied abroad
We live in a world where we accept lies and deny truths A Female accepts  lying she ends up crying  her soul is dying  letting the pain stay
Stop it I'm sorry kids But yes, There's no afterlife And we will die You wonder why I did this Melted ice caps and Starved kids As if Because I know  I can tell you
There I sat staring As every color flew by Oceans of madness
i feel trapped secluded like in a closed box i look around faces all around me passing me by forgetting im here i yell and scream but no one stops
Have you
Growing up,  I wanted to fulfill my parents dreams. Be a doctor, become a suregon. I wanted all that and then some. I wanted to go into the military, and attach fallen limbs.
No matter big or small I look to change it all The fuel we use in cars The rocket ships to Mars   You say it can't be done Yet I know I'll be the one To make the fastest plane
A BETTER PLACE WITHOUT                            If only we could hold on to water but at a grasps
I'm on top of the world he said in the next breath, he proclaimed, That we all fall. Its kind of funny how we're all taught, how we all bought into the lies that we all sought.
Even in all the aftermath
In the world, Love is lost, Hearts are broken, Along with bones and spirits, People die, People cry, People cheat, And people lie, Men are murderers, While poverty is persistent,
Like children playing
This is my poem.
We've got the world in our open hands.   With just a tap of finger, we've accessed the Web. This dimensional universe of knowledge that contains the world.
Everyone sees the world, but how exactly do we see it? That person sees starving Africans, this person sees people who never had a chance. That person sees a homeless man,
She was jogging late one evening As every night she did Aware not of the treachery That falling darkness hid
These hands, that you once held I gave away to the wind because at least they know how to hold something
Sometimes I wonder If we could fly like the birds Would we come back down?
Him
Him Something about him His laugh, his smile, something that's him This isn't like me
The pitfalls of man, though shallow, stay d

Adrenaline I want the most pure and enlighteningrush of adrenaline any human could ever experience. But how?
Do you ever look up at the night sky And wonder why we are here? This world is full of beauty you can't deny, And there's nothing to fear.   We work hard each and every day To provide for our family.
Hope. It runs deep. Deeper than any mineshaft, Tunnel or crevice within the world. Versatile, yet universal to all. It doesn’t hesitate, procrastinate Or assimilate. Hope is…
I often dream of myself floating from space, looking down upon the planet and watching its peacefulness.  And from up above, if my voice could somehow reach every human being, I would say, "Stop trying to dominate nature."
Foreward: Below is an account of my actions and feelings upon learning the loss of a friend.

Everyday is a living day  As i see people come and go by For some people is tragedy  For some others is heaven Twenty-two seven, Wandering in the streets Writing my life on these sheets
7 billion people in the world as of today Asians, Africans, Europeans, we got it each and every way What makes us different? The color of our skin or how we look?
What explains the difference among differences? My mind troubled by the puzzle A maze in which chaos makes sense Differences more acceptable than others Lost, tumbled, shaken, and forgotten
Sunset settles on the east As the sky darkens Stars twinkle While tine slows downs Owls awaken Yet, birds fly south Heart beats And I stay still waiting waiting waiting
Pick a path he said. I was surprised by the suddenness Of all of the things he seems to know To love  To cherish I love how people do that.
A dark room. I lie alone. Non-existent until this moment. Darkness blinds my open eyes. To me, my world is what I see.   I flip over. I turn around.
A deafening boom The earth trembles
The thing that gets me confused is when i see us being used Not from our counterparts but from the things we do Never good but bad it seems we strive for nothing far But rather just for the most veiws on WorldStar
Usually things pop up in my mind But suddenly they disappear through time I always think I know what I want But sometime I don't I'm young, confused, and alone What do you expect coming from a youngan
if only everyone knew if only everyone had their experiences if only everyone understood if only, if only.
A beat A rhythm A hook A chorus
So deep, so deep. Sarcasm is my towel.
Flaming red eyes, torn clothes at the thighs, and cuts and bruises that seemed to multiply, but still their lips whisper in sync " She lies! She lies! " But she only tells the truth She is only but a youth
Every Friday and Saturday You go and drink You go and dance You go and loose your mind   Being far from home Far from rules Far from reality Far from truth
I watched her as she faded away. She may not have noticed, But I did. Her face hollow, Her eyes blank, Her hands so fragile and small.
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this to you. I want to start off by saying I'm sorry, I'm sorry for allowing misconceptions to seep into your mind, Destroying your future.
Why am I here? Once, as a girl, I dreamt a of a big wide world.
People Are Dying People Are Gaining Power And Its All Ignored
In our world today
Ignorance is the new world powerThey say they give us education but feed us from a spoon coated in arsenic Governments claim they want what is best for their country We're brainwashed so we will cower
I wanna watch the whole world burn down! I wanna see everybody suffer and die! Watch their bodies turn black and crisp, watch them shrivel up and turn to dust.
Fun Things and Happy Things Can you really leave these behind? Even if you can, can you keep loving this place? Can you keep loving yourself? Sad things and frightening things You want to leave those behind.
You wanna know what makes me tick? A world that doesn't care for the sick. You wanna know what angers me more? A world that elevates the rich and completgely ignores the poor.
Not Stagnant By: Eric Turner
Broken down and abundant hope contaminates the air choking the fulfillment of the undeserved knocked out unconscious on the side of a curve racing through the rain lies an unsteady heartbeat
Hush little girl, and rest in me
Why is the world filled with so much hate?  Everyday it's something different.  - some teenager's getting raped - drugs - alcohol - gangs
Your eyes so beautiful, Reminding me of a warm mocha coffee on a chilly, cold day, Your smile so radiant,
How does one teach? Do you decide what is right? Can you truly say anything is false?
Perched on a hill Humble with nature's best Provider Observed Tranquilizer  Keeps me sane. No human element can toch thee. Stationary, revolved around all seasons.

Oh, you hate men? Why would you be a feminist? All guys aren't like that..That's so unfair.
We wake up everyday Some in joy, Some in pain We've all experienced the hurt But still we have the nerve To avert our eyes at every homeless man we see To witness a crime And say we dont have time..
Do you remember when you were little.
I want to reach up and touch the tip Of the tallest tree on the tallest hill And maybe then I'll get a look At all the world and have my fill Of forests and mountains Of lakes and streams
  Up above our wondrous world
look up at the sky, what do you see? a big crescent moon facing straight towards me  its big, its bright, its so pretty
She takes flight. All the light in those babydoll eyes. Broken. Soars away from these hardships. Tender hands burned. In this seemingly painless discuise. Don't leave me in the darkness.
Explode into the world, leaving your inhibitions in the dancing wind.  Your comfort zone is a place to forget and leave behind, for outside of it greater things are accomplished.
FUCK! .....Manipulation...
I hate you
I find it hard to live in the world I am in.
If i had one wish, i think that wouldn't be enough
Sick and blind All of mankind Twisted and strange A world that’s deranged Oh what a twisted world                                                  Scary and Crazed A vision that’s hazed
I love Tokyo so much As a child I would watch anime. Pretend that I was a marital artist living in the Hot Springs. Tokyo is where my dreams were born  My imagination and my love for adventure began.
I write for you. The one who is always on my mind, The one who always seems so close.   I write for you. My love, my one, my only, My life, my drive, my soul.   I write for you.
Can I make everything rewind Back in time When everything was once fine And make all of these new thoughts collapse? I'm bound to the floor because there's nothing more
The world buries problems underground With no hesitation it takes While we walk over the mound All the problems the world makes   Problems look better in pitch black night
Through blurry eyes she views the beauty of the world, yet those who see clear see an abyss of nothing.
I was walking through school during lunch one day when I heard at once a peculiarly snobbish voice saying "I just don't understand it," and so you see, I simply had to turn and look.
We live in a world where society rules most of us  We create groups to isolate our selfs from larger crowds We figure that if we stay away from the people who try and change us then we cant be changed
The World Around Us Ring! Ring! Tic-Tac! That is all you hear nowadays, As technology advances people keep changing their ways,
Think. Right now. What's on your mind?
The world does not revolve around you        If so then the sun would shoot down like rain on a window pane Tap Tap Tapping on your skin until you blister and boil        Oh such pain that i'll never know
There are two people considered important in the American Society Students and workers Because who are unemployed and uneducated? Who cares? Students and workers Students are in schools Workers in offices
I am the poet, madder red The odd accumulation of odds and ends. Bright and tarnished, waylaid silver My worth is determined by the words I'm giving. But I am not only a poet of odds and ends
If I could choose just one job where would I even start? I'm told that happiness and love is but endorphins in a brain And yet I feel it rushing through my heart
There are 77,600,000 girls around the world who do not attend school.   Not 77,600,000 children or adults or people all put together.
Empty.That's how I feel.
What's it gonna take? To show this world what's right from wrong My hearts about to break Because this has been going on for too long   We need a cure, not for the sick But for the evil
The dude on the news going on about all the world but we do not really care its all about "me me me" when kids in schools cant believe in themselves  creating all the heartless hate
The sun beams on your flesh
The sun shines bright upon the snow     the land a white expanse The wintry air is brisk, yet still,     the lake frozen and vast He takes her up in his arms, and     they turn to a music only they can hear
We hear about problems, All over our world, How there are  bombings, shootings, And deaths allured.    What people forget, Is how this all began, With hatred that came,
“You’re too young”.
Acceptance is key  labels have become a necessity  and now they determine our worth whether it's skin color, your hometown  even your choice of clothes or your choice of faith  Acceptance is key
The world needs children the smile with missing teeth  the mouth full of food the arms dancing when you laughs
Have you ever considered the mind of a fish? Whether he laments his glass imprsonment And dreams of swimming in the ocean?   Have you ever pondered the state of a house?
What Would You Change… If you had the power to change anything what would it be? Your hair, Your name,

The clock is ticking. The world is slipping  into a state of decay.  Our parents won't see it,
"Here you go" They said. "Here is your little bundle of joy" Like all, I had paused and reflected on my past. At that moment, I didn't mean to drown in drunken thoughts. I couldnt help it.
I used to be afraid of losing my eyesight. But now I’m afraid of losing my mind. The world is beyond crazy, I find. I turn around and see my life in hindsight, A shaded memory, a darkened twilight.

Why do we fight?
Personally I believe
Inspiration Where does it come from? Echos believe it comes from the places we've been. Whispers believe it comes from the things we have seen. All I know is that it comes to us in slow waves.
Just like the stars, we'll dissolve into a thousand ashes Pieces staying behind for all eternity Just like the stars, we hold the light The light for which only shines to seem like a mere second That light is ours
There's something to be said about self-expression About everyone knowing who you are Without you having to tell them In a world where you are one Of 7 billion people It's easy to feel lost.
Every time I turn on the news, a family, a person, a life is bruised.

Heavy and smudged sky, and drops on the window. My brain pulses, and my heart swells.   It weighs down on the space between  morals and the vices of feeling.

I look around and see more phones  Than books in the classroom. I see people worrying about bets When there is an eminent war.   I see thinking diminished  And common sense thrown out of mind.
Fettered to a spinning sphere
ending it all horribly. brought down,  Our world will be in ruins If there isn't anyone,
We woke up in this place, shattered but alive,   The world is a monstrocity,  we manage to survive.   Torn up children's faces and corrupted civil wars,
My future In my mind, my future is filled with success In my mind, my future is not filled with disappointment But, that is simply impossible  The future is unpredictable
There is no better race, Everyone is of equal taste In the eyes of God.   It doesn't matter what you are. Asian or hispanic, White or black, People are all the same.
Humans are the dominant species Creating buildings that penetrate skies, And having every artificial and natural luxury From this, our evils arise… Entitlement Selfishness Disregard Hate.
So much beauty everywhere It is winter melting into spring The cars, bikes, and trains Make music outside my city window It is gray now Fluctuating between waves of warmth And bitter, biting cold
Struggling to be free.  What is freedom?
To the poet who uses words to explore, to you who thinks you know more, you manipulate a bondage of words to stage, I the historial who studies the past,
Red, Yellow, Blue, Green Flags are nothing but color. Caucasian, Indian, Islander, African Skin is not the issue in particular. Trans, Gay, Straight, Bi We are all the same.
Racism. It's such a strong word, A prevelant issue, Something that separates, Discriminates. It leads to wars. It does not love. It is an unjust system. It hurts.
If you could ask for one thing, what would it be? That was the question asked. Well, I'd pull out my magic lamp and call upon my genie,
The world we live in, So full of hate. The world we live in, Plummeting at such a rate.   We must stand for what we believe in, Recognize the important things.
Dreams seem hopeless When you have doubt. When you think there's no way out. So please, hear me out. This is what I would do.   Changing the world, It's like polishing a pearl.
What would I change ? The world.... so that children would be fed hate would be dead and love can wed so that promises could be kept and tears wouldn't be wept but where dream's leapt
We dance, dance endlessly in a gentle-swaying torrent,
From the day you were born, you've been feeling vile scorn, for the future they say is so bright. The school that you stay in, The church that you pray in, Just trying to snuff out the light.
If everyone were kinder
Imagine a world with no color How dull our lives will be Every moment the sky gray That’s not the way Our dreams won’t be dreams We will wake up with screams Because a world with no color
What would I change? Wouldn't you like to know? I'd feed the hungry To make people grow.   I work at McDonalds, it's fine and all, And we throw away burgers that go out and come back
Who can save us? A starving world, 9 billion strong.   Or rather 9 billion weak.   Bony, worn, and sunken children Countered by pink slime cheeseburgers
When the ground shook beneath her,  she held her balance. When that very ground cracked,  she didn't loose a step. And when she thought her world was caving in, she smiled at the thought of new beginnings.

Two eight-year-old boys meet. One of ebony skin, One of cream. After hours of frog-catching at the park, Their fathers see, and take them apart. Why can't we be friends?

In this world we call Earth, There are many things that need to change. Homelessness and discrimination Are just a couple to name. Narrow minded people Should just mind their own business

At the sound of an alarm, We wake! At the smell of a brew, We wake! At the turn of a key We move! On our path to fortune, We dream, Yet, at the sight of the homeless child,
People walk to work like they are alonethe youth shrug their shoulders, take a drag, and it passessleep in a city of millions, never knowing anyone.outside, every thing you hear you have already heard,
Why is the sky blue? Let's make it purple.   Why is the grass green? Color it blue.   Why do humans have such beastly attitudes? Put a smile on their face.
Loving your job  Isn't so simple. Especially in this culture Where we're taught to just sell out Our gifts and our talents.  Quick choose: money or passion. They don't always go hand in hand,
If I could change anything it'd be the world. If I could change the world I'd make it a better place. If I could change the world I'd benefit the entire human race.
In a world full of hate and despair, there may be times we feel nothing can compare, where it seems to be, beyond repair. In a world that's cold, and no sense of right,
The dark cave opens us to a new light,
The world is tough, The world is prideful, The world is rich, The world is flashy, The world is glamourous, But I am not like the world. The world is sleezy, The world is hard,
Where is the love in this world so cold? Has compassion died off with those who are old? Has the ghost of the heart flown away?
I feel the mysterious paint dripping down like a cape Containing the worlds lies that I thought I could escape
If I could change the World It would be for the Better No more hurt ,no more pain, No more war, or breakups No more crying, No more Death People would see who they are Girls would like themselves

What is the mind of man,
Don't ever give up. Where would we be if Abraham Lincoln didn't end slavery, fixing humanity as if it's a broken cup?
Illness and diseases... Hurt and suffering... Abuse and murders. They, and more, keep happening. Every day and everywhere.   We can try to avoid it but we certainly cannot go too far

Much deeper than flesh Being myself is complex Everyday improving my thought process Life only gives one promise Can’t tell you where I’m going based off places that I’ve been
It ran away some time ago, or perhaps it was stolen.  Not by a man, a drug, or a mix of the two.  It was stolen by the world.
Look me in the eye and tell me we aren't the same,
I will join your herd Although your vision is blurred Soon you will be subdued This world is very crude But I will struggle on And I cannot wait until dawn And so I felt This whole system melt
This world is spinning out of control  The doubts are coming over me pulling me no where but down. The society's perfections got me questioning my complexions.
My wish  is that the world would squish
As I write this I am sitting in my world... It is where I always like to be When thoughts are flowing This place makes me aware that I am finite It is here that troubles diminish for me.
There are worlds beyond the tips of my fingers— Ones that I can barely brush. Built of thumbprints and slant faces and closed mouths, Withholding what is never be spoken of.
With it we define, the meaning of life The need to realign, without much strife To impose our odds, beyond our right
If someone ever comes to up me With a bag of Skittles and candy in their mouth, With the lame pick-up line:
Is it me that I would change? Or is it the world and its evilness? My qualities go beyond range But this world...it has no sense of friendliness I must admit I am a little strange
A conversation about politics gets most people uptight

Hidden Lies The present is cheap, The future looks bleak. An image of solace, Is all the eyes meet. In reality, it is a downfall. The world can be simply defined
One day when we were young Owen asked me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” “I don’t know,” I said. “I want to be an astronaut. It’d be so cool to go into outer space
I wish for world peace, For there to be no war,
The world has lost its innocence,

A carbon atom is small, But it can make you trip and fall. It has many things to do in life, So it will do it while he flies. Carbon forms a bond with oxygen, And they become the eternal bossing gem. They travel through the world,
He called her ugly. He believes she is ugly. He hurts her. He is ugly. She is beautiful. She is strong. She loved him. He is ugly.
I live in the same place I was born. A small circle of protection,     preserved on every side by a cliff or mountain. It’s a mystifying place,
It's seen in her eyes the beauty and danger of this world. Full of love, full of hurts. And everything in between. Thought she knew what life meant but life is just a tempt. Full of truth, full of lies.
  I am Alexandria Leitermann;
Education will cure the cause of hate. Everyone should try to inform the rest. We can try to erase ignorance from the worlds full slate. Then we can really address the real cause of this mess.
People may walk by  But it doesn't mean you have to. When someone is in need It is the time to distiguish yourself. The little difference to helping to not Will make you the better person in this world.
Mine eyes have seen the coming the comming of many things, But as things pass by my eyes they become many goings.   My feet know many back allies that have kept me off my trail.

Life, an ever living being with endless possibilities, we grow to live and accomplish goals we wish to acheive as this world we pollute, dies with us, as our selves die aside our cells.
Dark EYES. Dark HEART. Dark PAST.
Day by day We wake up What do we say?   Day by day We get out of bed All the words we say Are just made up in our head   Day by day We paint a picture of ourselves
I'm enveloped in the black abyss of nothingness, I can see everyone else up on the surface but I'm still stuck below, here alone, I can see everyone is trying to help me out,
What is this we call home? Compressed, disstressed, in a dome. The mind, Losing time. Don't even know; but we're intellegent. Pseudobenevolent. Give to get back; Give in to riff-raff
The home of a traveler Is not really a home, But more of a way of life. The home can be furnished nicely With a chipper mood and a broad smile. The furniture is all in place
I realize it is this skin! For some unspoken words it is this skin Does it bare a mark of ancestral sin? How when they built this country on their bakcs and tears and blood.
As if their concentration camps weren't enough, Now they have to shove big guns in our faces. They do not care if we cry, They do not care if we die. All they care about is extinguishing our religion and race.

What used to seem so bright Is now slowly losing its light I'm losing it in the shadow of this big world. I used to dream of success I used to dream of fame
As you March through this life, Your steps are forever traced- Legends- are left behind Precious Memories, are scattered- throughout this earth.
Beauty is created on its face. Colors swirling into a symphony, Creating beauty where there is none found. All emotions are held beneath the tip, As it glides across this vast unknown.
Remember when the world was happy? Neither do I.
As we discover how complex our Universe is we  should remember how simple it once was
The world gives me absolutely everything Life, Love, Friends, School, Laughter, Death, Sadness, Happiness My list can go on for days
The final destination for everything, to you, is in your head.   Your definition for every word, your feelings of every object, your knowledge of geography,
There comes a time in life when - you realize that you cant trust anybody. At first you felt loved - and then you were betrayed. Your life spins and everything you thought you knew - is now a lie.
Most of you think that we dont belong to a world like yours. That we should go back, and never come back.  Most of you think that we dont have the right to be free, to work and to talk, like you do.
Life could be serene and peaceful Like the waves of the ocean. Everyday activities could be graceful Like the waterfalls. People could be one family
A world so great, a world so big, Forgets the people so small and weak. Open your eyes, Look around. Open your ears, Hear their cries. Open your heart, Stop the injustice,
Darkness is a cloak of shelter. Ending the day's noise,  And so forth the day's chapter.   Darkness is everywhere,  Whether it's a shadow, Or a feeling you can't share, nor bear.
Run, run, run as fast as we can We can't stop the rhythm echoing in our hearts and hands our feet and soul they must fly We cannot deny the sparks that live than die Jump, jump, jump
Deep within the forest, inside the pine tree’s heart, Run the dearest of children to their own land set apart, The sun on the dirt, the trail well known, But to all who thread it a question is thrown,
What could the world be, if it were up to me? A neverceasing green, full of lakes and streams? No sad tears and no angry frowns, No warring nations and no frightening sounds
“I am A Ginja Traceur” PoemNicholas A. Peet
They dont placate children with sugar, spice, and everything nice anymore. We Just accept what gives  and nod our heads to the insufficency of the world. They put them in easy-bake ovens
I love you I'm starting to think i always will. I gotta admit when i'm with you my heart and the world both stop and stand still.
What is the world just stopped turning? I may just give up.   What if the world gave up? I could let everything go.   What if the world let everything go? I would feel very scared.
The aperture of existence surged into the void of her happiness And the smiling sun extracted the life from her pallor flesh Daffodils danced as she traversed the ashen river of though
In the end we are nothing but bones-     it’s funny how death and time ride a tandem bicycle  (time always steers- as impatient as always- death always pedals- ever present-)

Keep your eyes shining Keep yourself locked away Look for the silver lining say what they want you to say
Diversity: we are all different Diversity: we are all individual Without Diversity we’d be the same Everyone would like only vanilla ice cream
Looking around. Biting lip. Sickness whirls into your stomach. Nausea hits you out of nowhere. Palms sweat. All of a sudden it feels unbearable to just stay still. You have to move. You have to escape. But you can't.
While growing up in a fast laneShe started these fast waysand she was missing her fatherMissing a love that could only be giving by a manBut instead she grabbed the hands of many
Did we ask to be born into a world of such scorn,  They would surely mourn for the the old ideals,  Since those are no more,  This is a new world, a much more flawed world, but freer,
Teach a girlNo doubt, she is diamond-beautifulInside and out,Because God created herWith a purpose.Break the curse,To crush deadThe tiny mocking voicesIn her head
Tick Tock. I don't have time for this.
What if no one ever tried, or if no one was inspired? What if no one ever created, or if no one ever desired?               Where would this world be?
You think you can change the world. You cannot. The best you can do is change yourself.Change yourself so dramatically, that the world will look at youand want to change, and change because of you.you did not change the worldyou helped the world chang
Why do I write poetry? Because it gives me hope. It serves as a flame to light my way. Because in a world of problems, Of lies and fear, Of war and famine, I can control fate.
I cannot make flowers growin the parts of myself I don't take enough care oflike my mindand my heart. I cannot repair those who are brokenand I cannot healthose who hurt.
Darkened skies, and places of dismayViolence, deaths are the best way to describe todayMalevolent personalities and families that strayHomeless people, jobless people, tend to struggle everyday
Dear World Where you have to pay extra not to have chemicals in your food Where not being the most obese country is an accomplishment Where Nicki Minaj's butt has more hits than Mahatma Ghandi

From my eyes, I see a world of wonder. A place filled with young day dreamers; A place filled with possibilities. It’s a world that shines in the sunlight, Yet you can only see the reality.
Social society deems me imperfect – just another product went defective I try to ignore the pressure but the cover of the magazine holds me captive Yet here we are in our Photoshop world with our newly made disguise
Time passes us by we all forget to see, the world as it was intended when we first breathed. So innocent and pure our eyes were in that first light, Has transitioned to the hate and societal wars between people
When I was born, I stood on the shotgun seat. Danger was a challenge best met naïve.  My dad told me, “Sit down or you’ll get hurt.”
I am like the dark. A vast, intricate enigma. Everybody can see that I’m there. Some people choose to embrace me. I do not seek, but lie in wait. Few people can understand some of me, some of what I hold.
Around the world, We question and uncover,  To explore and experience through and through, For tomorrow is here,  and today is gone by How has it been?
Tell me how you feel when the wind gets strong enough to blow you over. Why do I try? Taking in everything that's happened, How do I forget? It'll blow over and everything will seem fine,
For 18 years I've been lost about being lost and tossed around by meaninglessness Worried about pieces of paper in the future For the last 2 years, I've been eating the last doughnut And sneaking a glass of wine
When I was younger I would sit in the back of the classroom without saying a single word My teacher would always call on me
How are feelings expressed? Through words? Through voice? Just one sound or one word can illuminate ones heart,  it grows and becomes a never ending cycle. It continues to grow until it spreads across the world like a wildfire,
I ask myself "who do you want to be?"/ Be the best emcee making hella money?/ Or become the lyricist who can make a few funnies/ Act like a dummy but impress with my cunning/ My vocab isn’t that great/
What has this world come to? People too involved with themselves or should I say vain ... over consumed Using others just to get by or too pretentious to just be themselves, flaws and all ... and not hide
I’ll wander the Earthand sail the seajust in case you can’t find me
World without hate Is one without fright One where the darkness Is diminished by the light   One where all people Are happy at peace And discrimination Has finally ceased
The sea shimmers like sunlight on chrome Loud crashing waves and soft silky sand are my living room The beach is the place I call home   My home is unlike the old empire of Rome
Intelligence is of the mind and never of the spiritual or physical.
It was a question that plagued me even in my dreams and begged for a reply Why haven’t we changed? Obscure, it seemed it was, when a stranger approached me
Appearance, they couldn't do much. Battered clothes hang off the shoulders of them. Conquering the battles of the homeless people was my mission. Dead people walking is what they seem to be.

As a little girl, I wonder what I will be. Too many troubles, but all I can do is be me. Negativity is all I see. And I wonder what this world will be. Where Life Takes us, is up to me.
The world before me Is dark and dangerous What lies ahead Is foreign and uncertain   I write on paper What I am unsure of So that maybe my words Can guide me to answers
Pondering with my eyes closed, As The raindrops tap against my window. These droplets coming faster, Its coming down hard. These droplets must be the tears of God.
War
War is a terrible monster,      it devours everything in its path,           and leaves only destruction and ruin behind. War is like a spider,      it waits for countries to become ensnared
(First time recording from probably a year ago... Flow is to be tampered with still and an ending is still debated.)
Nations that grow weeds Fall, but buds grow back again, And they bloom once more.
I held your hand when your daddy left you held my hand when Rebecca died Neither one of us ever had it any better
Here is a word, or maybe some more I guarantee, simple is bold   We see the unseen And feel the signals The signals of heart   But there are choices Choices to be made
What is Beauty? Is it what your face holds Or is it skin deep within our soul. In our society Being Thin is in Lighter Skin and other countless things. What happens to the other girls
I dream of a perfect world another world, Where children don’t go hungry, Where all people have a say in the government. Where simple medicines are provided to the ill,
I'm living in a world that doesn't exist! A world that is fragile, a world that's a game; It can always start over. No one ever dies to stay dead, But to be reincarnated a few seconds later.
Trees have always reminded me of lungs. They even kind of look like them. They branch out in the same type of widespread, fleshy mass with exposed meat, and their introverted veins; veins as in branches, veins that act as passages.
Sunlight burns through large, green treesCars begin to replace all the beesOnly thing living is people like meAs a breathe is inhaled in this great city.
What does writing mean to me?  It's a way to make my words flow, like wind through trees.  A way to show on paper, the picture in my mind.  Despite the fact that I can't draw and my painting skills are way behind,
You know what they say a tiny ripple can change the day.   When scary moments pass we know the sun will rise.   You can always see it the slow change.   From perfectly fine
Robert Belano once said:“For a long time, I stopped existing.”And the pages of a blank book,Brought me back from the deadAs I scrawled SanskritAgainst the sands of an hourglassWhat I was searching for-
So God made the birds and the bees He made these trees He made you and me. Not for all of us the destroy and tear them down. We say we're big and bad, walking around like we own the place.
In a world full of pain and fear she finds peace In a world full of darkness and cold she finds light and warmth In a world full of despair she finds faith   She knows not of the life outside this dark room
The world around me is like a prison Capturing the demons that live within it Torturing their bodies, invading their souls Held captive, waiting to be freed Confined to their life
This World We're In Full of fear of the end There are some who seek For the greater good- But can great be misunderstood This World We're In Full of love and enjoyment A house for my family, is money well spent And those who tend to live forever..
Hit the floor running, that's what they say But there's only so far you can run In this bricked up place with these tiled floors filled with sickness, sad- ness, and sterilization. But that's why I'm here:
Sorrow, Emotions that travel through each human being as we face triumph and hardships in our lives, a world full of confusion as every young professional tries to thrive.
Waking up, rubbing the crust out of my eyes to realize, where i reside is a land on its demise I then reflect on I, surrounded by subsidized housing and homeless vets, and fiends who get cocaine wasted by the ounces
Who am I? I am the shelter for him and her  I am Mother Nature Man cut down my trees  Woman however use me for a decoration Flowers are pretty but they are meant to grow
Burning bridges Cigarette light Charcoal ashes Acid rain Do you watch as the world burns?Would you dare not care of the void that litters this earth?
You look up at me wishing your lives would change, sometimes with tears in your eyes, other times angry with hearts full of hate. I listen to your dreams and hopes every night and can't help but wander what it is to dream, to love, to live.
The world has shut me out. Told to never speak truths again. My mind holds back my hearts true nature and shoves it in a corner of doubt. My poor heart slowly becomes passive like a wild lion whipped into submission.
High school is over. Spread your wings and discover What your life could be.
The world’s open mouth gapes, and swallows all those who enter. We are all a caged animal here, made to make this place better. The reason we are put here, is what we search for a shine.
Eyelashes brush on rosy cheeks Slowly turning into yellow beaks A feather upon a dusty pillow Comes sweeping against a sprouting willow. Yellow leaves by a river’s edge Dance among the grassy ledge
She was an artist who used the world as her canvas. Her chalk pigments overlapped the cement, transforming a broken pavement into something rather exquisite. That was her talent and her flaw.
As I grew older, my mind became bolder With every touch of passion, I become clutched I began to write when I began to reason reality, a creative formation status of my full mentality
The world is SPINNING OUT I have no utter doubt That history repeats itself And its happening now. Do you think for a moment That this would not happen? Warfare in the world
I don't keep the worlds histories I don't solve the worlds mysteries And I am not their story keeper I am no mans scribe. That is not my life.
I woke up today Then woke up Then woke up and saw a light so bright it blinded A light So bright it burned So bright it melted my eyes a little So that their essence pooled and fell
When I feel for the disadvantaged I write, When there is chaos everywhere and I know the solution I write, When my brethren are brutally killed I write, To share the pain, to discover a solution,
Where we were placed Tremendous size, yet microscopic realizations What's a conflict thousand miles away Transforms into a brief mention in another thousand miles away Wrapped up, reserved, conservative
I crave to see the world. I have a lust rooted deep within myself for adventure, A hunger to pack my bags, pack my life, a camera, and someone I love. The desire to travel has always clung to me.
This warm blanket I've been hiding under is unraveling. Each little mistake and each poor decision is tugging at the strings of my once strong fabric. The chill of winter is seeping through my quilt. I cannot hide for long.
This world around me is shattering. Ever so slowly Piece by piece They crack and fall. To reveal something ugly Something broken.
I know it started with a cry. Bright light in my eyes—a breath, my parent’s sighs. They said “welcome to the world,” Our world. I’d come to know it, soon enough. To me the world began small.
I'm living in a world so bleak and cold No warning of hurt Protect yourself because nobody else will Hold on tight It's going on to be a long fight Filled with mysteries Yes, that we are
(poems go here) As I sit back, reminisce, and wonder why, why I am who I am, and my eyes become watery and I start to cry.

A place, a meaning, a voice, a dream and a goal Within the walls of this beautiful classroom, Students learn the secrets of life day by day They discover a little about themselves and of the world around them.
I am expendable. And I absolutely will not believe that I can do great things. I understand this may be a surprise, but “Have faith in your abilities” Was a lie, and “I’ll never figure it out”
My world is damaged, my world it bleeds, It’s been infected, corrupted, and battered to a “tee”. It cries, it begs, it screams out of pain, And unless something changes, it will die in vain.
I have 98 days until I’m gone Gone from friends, gone from family, gone from home I have 98 days to get ready Deadlines, clothes, jobs, money I have 98 days to think Am I ready ? Or am I not? Can’t it just wait?
The scene unfolds with little warning Words would have diminished its significance The moment itself should have lasted forever Its beauty was terrible
Passing by those I do not know And those I wish to never know A packed bus never fails to amuse So much decay is put on display Dripping from every pore Ugly and deceptive to the core
Aware of what the future beholds, I reach a hand out into the dark beyond. Rising up from this earth, Called my grave, This translucent flesh Rots away. I realize I'm not alone;

Ignorance is killing a man, a man with great potential. And this ignorance that I speak of, is coming down like torrential rain. There is no way to escape it, no escape plan.
A Child Alone Thinking that they’re grown But just another soul lost Victim to the World’s Exhaust

Have you ever been To the land of the lost? The place with no end? A place of thought? Everyone has been there. Everyone knows. Children want to live there. Adults tell them no.
The idea of being awake... Truly and spiritually awakened from the earthly slumber life puts us in. The dim and dreary box that society puts us in. While in reality we can change the world if only we could awaken.
Welcome to this world, this cold, cruel place, Where violence and hurt are quick to replace. Here are some things to which to pay mind If, and only if, you wish to survive.

Chicago shall rise again. This phrase, from ashes rose But I see a city again with flames rising high Not of fire but of hatred, racism and crime. A Chicago whose politicians are varied
In a little house, just off the main road I lived and loved with my family. The house was small, and often cramped, But it was warm, with good smells and lots of smiles. It was a house of imagination,
I'd rather see beauty in the flaws on the faces than have it all washed away washed away in the rain People are colors, not shades of grey, but colors combine to make grey anyway.
Do a lot of things first, and put God last And I know it isn't right, I do so wrong And I'm addicted, because I've been doing it for so long Sometimes my mind be so far gone

A Counsel Averting the Burning of Our World By R. M. Otto
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I look right and left. To find my surroundings sky high of bodies, and I wonder why. Far off into the distance, I can see it, The Resistance.
Our society has a crack We have to back track because there is a lack Kids young as ten saying F this and F that They need to get to class and be tamed
