Sailing on the sand I know the dangers up ahead My mind is on and ready My heart is leading fully   Sailing on the sand
There  comes  a  time  when  we  will  be  tried,When our coats are sopping wet,And  our  brains  are  fried,Our shoelaces swishing through a puddle as we fret,
I can run You can't hide A fortnight ago I swore you died. I watched as you burned Flesh cracked and turned black as the night. Not a star in sight. I watched you melt away
Haikus Inside, there is war. The heart and mind, They quarrel. Like kindred beings.   Fell between the cracks. Shortcomings, All too common.
Words, so many words but They can never express fully the feelings that swell inside  threatening to spill out onto the sidewalk who's cement tries to be strong but 
They say, "keep your friends close But your enemies closer." I ask, then, how do you know? Who is your friend And who is your foe? One moment it's sunshine And happiness and laughter.
People often realize  they can endure more than they thought they could when enduring becomes the only option.  But sometimes- when people can't endure- they break. break a little, 
She doesnt know she poor, Even when life tells her in many ways Her refrigerator becomes empty. Whenever she is hungry she can't even find a whole meal. Her family barley has enough food to last them until they can get more.
No rhythm No rhyme Just me And myself Dark hands Bright face WIth a dim glow in the eyes Worn out By the challenge Of living each day with a smile Inside

Alone, we wonder through thick of night, Stumbling through the under brush that binds our ankles. The journey is too much for the body, emotions, and spirit. A heavy groaning escapes the lips,
This is what the front line is like A line where all have stood at points in life A trial of tears, stress and pain Deception is an ugly site   There is some sort of delight
For a friend I've since lost, this was his challenge to me: "Write me a poem in five minutes. Free verse, but I like rhymes. I dare you to make it fit me to a T, make it totally and completely me." And so, I did.
