I used to read a lot more, That’s just a hardened fact. Now what I read is simply for school, Annotations, blue and black.   I remember loving books,
You, my dear, are a bomb You have reduced me to sheer atoms With the force of your eloquent words Stronger than any weapon that the hands of man have produced
My father, my father, how much you mean to me, You’ve taught me how to be mature, and good as I can be, You help me up when I fall down, and tell me I can do it,
I awake to my alarm another day of work lies ahead I begin to creep out of bed and hear your quiet morning voice Asking me for coffee half asleep, I don’t hesitate
We all know how it goes 'Once upon a time' to 'happily ever after' The same words, the same stories, the same messages spread: 'Some day your prince will come' 'Believe in magic' 'Follow your dreams'
What is this darkness? But with this grief, I have you, So I embrace darkness.
Forget the blood lines that make our trees bright red Forget the colors that highlight our lively skin Brothers, sister, mothers and fathers We are all something bigger, better and stronger Yet…
Do not let my heart grow cold.  For I will become a cynic, and bitter to the core.  Kind words will choke me, for I cannot say them. 
Happiness is a reward, A thing we shouldn't ignored. But happiness is not easy and life isn't all that breezy. Happiness is working hard  Even if your playing the right card.
