Dear Ryan,
You didn’t know me way back when…
I struggled to read with my kin,
Mom studied by day and worked by night.
Dad held three jobs, struggling with all his might.
Is it for me or is it for them
He wonders why he is here
Here in the diamond mine
Has no one yet noticed he’s just a rock?
What the diamonds must say,
“He doesn’t even belong in a coal mine”
