Butterflies seek shelter amidst the wind  Spreading their wings in the light
I drove with the windows down To feel the air upon my skin To watch the sunlight kiss the trees To figure out what sleeps within
I wandered through searching faces As the skies opened up in flame And stars reached back to embrace What calls us all by name   I sat beside the water To learn to be alone
A longing within the deepest of skin Flows like a heedless stream For there we were, distant but sure That all was like a waking dream   I gazed in eyes that analyzed Processing what I contained
