Poems about Animals
A generation of sons flown overseas
Those left at home rendered mute although screaming for truth and peace
one of my female students
walks to my office
body expression shaken
like her life is about to be taken
Torn ears, my body battered and bruised, like a rotten apple.
Just a rotten apple, rotting in yesterdays' garbage.
We love you more than we even love ourselves.
We live to be loved.
Your attention and loving hands embrace us.
I was a good boy,
Thankful and proud,
I wasn’t too nosey
And I wasn’t too loud.
Disease is the reason
For the loss of my loved ones,
And possibly the future
Loss of others.
The Mother Earth that once throbbed with life
Is falling into the abyss of death.
It is the human and animal strife
