“A man’s perception is everything”

Why am I subject to a man's eyes?

Why do I have to mold myself to these standards

Feeling like I'm not by definition a “women”

As I look in the mirror I ask myself “Why can't I have a nice body?”

As if having a nice body is enough

Within the eyes of a man, I'm not seen as a woman but rather a subject

A subject that hides their identity through headless women

Perceived as such by the unsophisticated mind

Women mind not what only heaven sees

Why indeed it is the eye of the man I have been taught to please.
