Through Oceans, I Rise

I ran from storms, from voices that broke me, from a father’s fists, and a mother’s weary strength. Every shadow whispered escape, every wound begged me to flee, I searched for love in empty places, but found only echoes of need. My mother, tired yet unyielding, her hands trembling but strong, she carried me through the wreckage, teaching survival when hope was gone. I was a child of broken glass, cut by the shards of home, a wanderer chasing affection, never knowing where I belonged. But oceans taught me patience, waves carved courage in my skin, and through the salt of endless trials, I learned pain does not win. My past is not my prison, my scars are not my chains, I am more than the violence, more than inherited pain. And in the tide of growing older, I found the love I sought, a man destined to walk beside me, a truth my battles brought. So let the storms remember me, let the shadows keep their cries, I am living proof of healing — through oceans, I rise.
