the words in my mind have been bottled up— a cork I can’t pull out. drowning my thoughts in the empty bottle— all my positive thoughts turn into doubt. here and there. there and here. everything is going to be okay, they said. I’m fine. I’m not. I’m lying. oh, am I? I don’t know. it’s all over my head. I can’t decipher what to think. I can’t figure out what to say or do. I feel like I’m about to sink— in the stresses and thoughts about what and who. I want to close my eyes for a moment— I want time to freeze for a while. I want to be able to mean it— to mean it, when I smile.
