1 in 7 Billion

There are 7 billion people in this world; billion, not million. In that 7 billion people, I hold one close and dear to my heart. I hold her closer than a child held their favorite teddy bear. I hold her closer than the space between atoms. I hold her close because she taught me how to love. She taught me how to laugh and showed me how to live. I hold onto my mother like there is nothing else on this world that I can hold onto. My mother is my life. Without her I would not be walking this world. Without her I would not have learned to walk this world with my head up. I would not have learned how cruel reality is but I would still make it through because I’m the daughter of a strong women. She taught me that no matter how cruel time can be I can always count on her, and she would always be there.
