1 a.m.
The bull-horn blows throughout the night,
every night.
1 a.m.
Windows rattle and the cat wakes.
The dogs bark.
1 a.m.
The music crescendos, closer.
Iron meets iron.
1 a.m.
The conductor's hand's wrapped around
the bull-horn.
1 a.m.
The money of yesterday burns;
Smoke billows.
1 a.m.
The leaves shake and the stream ripples.
Rocks clatter.
1 a.m.
The owl takes flight and rodents run.
The wolves stare.
1 a.m.
The music decrescendos, leaves.
Railings creak.
1 a.m.
Rattling dies, rippling slows, smoke fades.
Clatter stops.
1 a.m.
The bull-horn softly blows goodbyes.
The moon wakes.
1 a.m.
