10 years from now
Dear Divine,
Hey. Its me, your sixteen year old self by now you should be 26. While i am still junior at osborne high school who plays the flute, vice president of the junior class, part of the marching band, and with a 4.2 gpa. I really hope you haven't let all my hard work go to waist. Right now you should be in your 2nd year as an ob/gyn at whatever hospital you work at. I wish i could get a letter from you to know how we turned out. I have so many fears for the future. Will i get a high enough score on the SAT to a full scholarship to UAB or Emory? Can i be successful in college? Am i smart enough to make it into medical school? If i make it as a doctor will i regret it? Will i have enough time to spend with my family with my job? Am i even married at this time? Do i still do all the things i love to do like, play the flute, dance, write, read, and paint? Can i beat all the other kids my age who are just as successful or more successful than me? Should i have chosen a career in something more creative? Right now i'm so sure about my future while you have already lived through it. What i really want you to know is no matter how we turned out promise me you won't ever lose our creative side. Promise me you’ll still take dance classes, paint to your heart's content, write novels and children's books, design dresses, and read constantly. I know you love working at the hospital and taking care of others, but don't forget to take care of yourself. Have some me time. And hey, if they happen to figure out time travel send some answers because i’m extremely anxious.
