1,000 Paths

Stuck at a 1,000 way road

Right way to my north

Right way to my south

I could go on many trails

So I choose my best guess

I walk for miles

And the people's smiles

Or words of encouragement

Tend to move me along

I've walked for years now

The people's grins seem like a lie

But it's a sin to go off the track

You see, my friend went another direction

I hope he's having more luck

But deep down I know that he's not

However, my doubt must never be caught

I wish I could go back now

And tell the new travelers to give up

For God isn't on any road

No matter how far you go

Gods are a pathetic dream

And my atheism is merely

A refusal to play this impossible game
