you were like a dream to me

you came and went so easily

and when you were here

i was drowning in your love

and when you were gone

i had nothing to hold onto,

just a memory.

perhaps someday you'll come again

and i'll treat you like a long lost friend

and the petals of a once budding romance

will wither and fall

and nothing will catch them either.
