I guess this is the unspoken part about growing up
speaking less and doing more
things to make myself proud
making myself the top priority and hoping others understand with no communication exchanged
attempting to balance the things worth being temporary or permanent
changing in ways I never imagined because when you’d asked me who I wanted to be when I grew up
I never answered by saying myself
I’ve been preparing all this time to aspire to be someone else
instead of a better self
if I could go back to the past me
I’d say:
“happiness should never be taken for granted and neither should you,
compromise with empathy but not the excuse of love”
I thought I stood on a solid ground
to stay safe
but it was the most volatile decision
I chose loyalty over what I knew deep down
and that was to always trust yourself
I’ve gotten really good of hiding what I was scared of
by showing you all the things I wasn’t afraid of
still searching for peace …
still searching for answers…
and still searching for me.
