Why do I always end up losing the ones I love? When I finally get what I want they end up flying away Off into the sunset with all my memories I can’t seem to make anything work out. when I get to the place where I’m ready to try Everything starts crashing down around me It seems impossible to burn down those walls The walls that are constantly closing in, suffocating me That never relent as hard as I try to push them back I wrestle myself out But I still feel as if I’m being dragged back, Pulled farther and farther into the dark I want to break free I feel it in my heart Something is trying to escape But the chains that bind me are too strong Every time I pull against them they tighten Wrapping round and round and round Squeezing until all I can do is give up Give in To the barriers in my mind Not for fear of misery But for fear of happiness And then having it wrenched away Life can’t be lived that way
