How is it

That at the same time

You say i have you,

I know i don’t.

Why is it

You fill my head

With these feelings

That you never truly had

For me.

How is it

I fell for someone so devious

And saw past

The potential pain

You held within you.

Why is it

That i stayed by your side

When the waves were crashing down

And you could barely stay afloat.

How is it

That you’re somehow

Always too busy

To simply say hello

Or i miss you

Why is it

That i allowed you

To use me consistently,

And to tear me apart

At the seams.

Why is it

Even after the brutal hell

And pain you put me through,

I still feel

The same love for you

As i did before.
