"114 Miles Away"

Feels like an eternity when you last held me

But that was two Sundays ago

On that warm morning when you drove me home

All we have are our phone calls,

But sometimes not even that is enough

I hold back from saying I miss you,

But I do miss you, and it keeps me up at night

Communication is what holds us together

You laugh at my cheesy jokes

And listen to my rants on crappy days

But I wouldn't trade you for anything or anyone else

We trust each other without questioning one another

If I'm ever upset I'll let you know

Your ears are always ready to listen to me

Never have I met someone so understanding

Nor someone who takes action for things they promise

You ignite the flames in my heart

You're nothing like the last one

Who kicked me around like dirt

The one who played me like a toy

The one who never cared if I cried

Or if I was mentally drained

But you

You came and put a bandage on my heart

You are what God prepared me for

You came into my life when I never thought you would

Thank you for caring when no one else has

You may be far,

But love always finds a way, right?

You are my missing piece

I'm complete,

Although my missing piece is 114 miles away from me
