Drawn inward and away, A soul warped beyond all recognition. It hits again, the crushing pain, No strength to stop the attrition. And in the end turned cold, My solitude my own choice. Forever trapped alone, Where the world can't hear my voice. But, oh! for a glorious moment I have broken free Of depression's unrelenting shackles And discovered what I could be. But liberty wasn't meant to last, The darkness lures me in, Abusive and dominant, My willingness my sin.
