1:58 am

somehow the fingers that are dead to me still have a grip on me

they twist so meticulously around my neck to stop my breathing,

to take the light I have found in their absence

they try to drag me back to the lifeless state that glooms over me,

like a self fulfilling prophecy

no matter how much I struggle,

their icy grip only intensifies
