This is the story of someone I once knew. At first I hated him, though his motives were true But when I was alone with nobody to go to, I’m glad I got to know you Making small talk and messing around like friends supposed to Try to hang with cooler guys, but man, they some cold dudes Fact is, without ya I don’t what I was gonna do Beer, drugs, vandalism, hell I was already huffing glue Prescription pills were what they gave me to calm my mood And I was slamming my locker, but never talked, quiet on the outside The pain was agonizing, but never showed, dying from the inside There were people who cared about me, and tried to take me aside But I wouldn’t listen, hid and wiped the tears I cried Sitting at lunchtime, only friends are my shoes Reminiscing about times when I was happy, remember when I used to..? I get home; just go straight to my room, nothing new Every day I would just lie down and think, even though the homework due Glad you were there for me, so I could really talk this all through Before I did something drastic and destroyed myself and you too I needed you to be there, supporting me everywhere Even though other kids would look at me and kind of stare Wondering what was wrong with that kid with the angry glare He look like he don’t care, slumped shoulders and messed up hair The conversations we had, I would never grow tired Taking negative thoughts and throwing all that into the fire Blind optimism helped when the situations were dire Funny jokes and real friends were really all I desired I always tried to go higher I wanted to be admired I didn’t care, I’ve always been a liar The clouds have parted, and the sky is real blue I’ll never forget the voice that I remembered to talk to Through trials and hard times, stronger in myself my mind grew I look in the mirror and talk to you
