17 and Counting

Hey

You're 17 now.

What college will you go to?

What career will you choose?

What scholarships have you applied for?

Hey

You're 17 now.

Mama says

I can't wait for you

To turn 18.

Papa says

Follow your dreams.

Sister says

Don't go too far way.

You say

I know, I know, I know.

Hey

You're 17 now.

You're just a teenager,

You don't know what you want.

Time's almost up

It's time to grow up

Time to find

Your own path

Say goodbye

to mama

to papa

to sister.

Hey

You're 18 now.
