It was the morning of December
Yea , I can still remember
First day of Winter break

We woke up to the crying of my father
The excitement wasn’t their anymore
It broke my heart
The pain was there I felt it

Knowing I didn’t get to say Goodbye
Or Happy Birthday, since it was your day
Felt like a knife had stabbed me in the chest
Couldn’t resist but yell at the wind

Still remember the days
Where we laughed for hours
We smiled
Its been awhile

Every time we talked you would ask
“When will you visit ?”
And I always assured you I will
The day I did, it was late
You were gone , now I regret
Not being there when you passed away

One day I will get that smile on your face
But for now I look at pictures of those days
And cry till my eyes become dry

Never take advantage of anything
Live it to the fullest
Because one day you may have them by your side
And the next you may not
