2 Him I Am Much More Than Spent Time

Praise—

Hosanna—

Hallelujah—

For the spine that never healed

and the legs that never crossed.

The hands that never hit

and the ears that heard His word.

Praise—

Hosanna—

Hallelujah—

Thank God for the past.

For the shame

(for the shame).

For the struggle and the pain—

For the spine that never healed

and the legs that never crossed.

The hands that never hit

and the ears that heard His word.

Praise—

Hosanna—

Hallelujah—

For the love that outlast,

For the bond that blood has brought us,

For the water we waded through at night’s cast.

For the nails in the cross,

For the recession and depression,

For the barter and the lost.

For the books that captured it all.

I thank God for who I am.

I can’t imagine what it cost.

Honestly, I will create myself in an infinite amount of ways. By the time you think you understand me, I'll be in the ocean while you're scouring a lake.
