2 Years and Counting

2 years and counting

since we crossed paths

you were beautiful, something

that no man has ever dreamt of

or even imagined.

mesmerized by your eyes

you sway me like a wave of everlasting kisses,

sweet, wishes of gently caressing

your secrets

of your Uncle Sam invading your sacred land

that we hid beneath the stars.

You allowed me to surf your oceans,

under one condition

to make it my mission

that your volcanoes erupt.

sharp as coral reefs, you cut me up

Stinging

as I drowned in your waters,

but the flame continued to blaze.

Lava oozing down your leg

while your spirit rose like blossoming alulas

that are sacred and native to your body.

But one last look as I depart,

my heart stays here with you

as though it were home.

For now, we’ll meet again

Ms. Hawaii, farewell until then.
