2012

2012 was an ugly year-yes it was yes it was..

I seen some stuff that even our ancestors would shake at in fear.
Where can I go -where can you hide from the virus taking over?
The virus of hate, self centered ness and disrespect is getting bolder
How many mass murders did we have in  2012 past?
But all we can think about is the next law that our congress will get passed.

How many pregnant mothers did you hear that were bounded raped and killed?
But all we say is well glad it ain't me let's get on to the next thrill
We're young we're wild we living free we got no cares at all
So tell me why that mindset doesn't stop the virus' call.
The greatest country of them all we live in they all say
Our kids hate learning -there's no respect --but the futures bright today?

2012 --remember it was all supposed to end?
Well it did for some moviegoers, mall walkers and children remember them?
Where can you go where can you hide while the virus is taking over?
The virus of hate ,miseducation ,and and murder's getting bolder
The movie theatre will never be the same the mall isn't safe anymore
--Not like It ever really was -remember those gangs ran the floor?

But school --school-- education --you're safe inside those halls!
Newtown December 2012 brought death inside school walls
But even before that treacherous time there were school casualties everyday
Young boys of color my dear dear brothers made death a game to play.
New town showed how even the innocent were affected by the virus
And shortly after the virus went to the brains of half of congress.

I really wonder oftentimes what our ancestors must think,
Our people need to be set free from the bondage chains and links
It's not a black or white thing for certain issues that arise,
we are all the target  of the virus--our lives its ultimate prize
My people have come a long way -- your people have risen at last
But the deaths of one of our brothers hurts the same despite our past
The cure of hate self-centeredness and disrespect will get bolder
If we stand up together hand in hand your shoulder to my shoulder
The virus will be gone tomorrow if we face it with pure unity
Cuz no one would be left to house the virus and it's trickery.
That virus will dead and gone --it will be left behind

And we'll be stronger and more immune to what's next to plague mankind.
