I finally got what I’ve always wanted A friend to stand beside me A boy to wrap his arms around me And a man to love me But who would’ve ever guessed? That I wouldn’t be satisfied That I would want more That I wouldn’t be happy Why would I ever think that? Because I’m selfish? Because I’m lost? Because I’m broken? I look back at the words he wrote for me Saying in many letters that he loves me And his triumphant smile I’ve already missed by a mile The perfect day Of beauty and love Tumble into decay Without even a glance from above What was mine Already feels gone forever Without even a sign Of why ever turned to never Superman seems to have lost his powers As I wait for the final hour Where the worst day comes to an end And where the worst life is about to begin
