21st Century

People want to see

A smiles, happiness, perfection.

But that isn’t reality

People think they know,

Think they can relate

But you only see what is chosen to be shown.

We’d like to think we are in control

But we’re not.

Society turns its back to the intelligent

But worships those who are known

Who are never known for the right things.

The truth is ugly

Covered up

With makeup, perfect smiles, and lies

Those who know don’t care

Those who care are unknown.

We are all just leaves on a tree

At one point we will all fall

But will always grow back with time.
