If I flow against the river of time I will never make it out alive I may take myself along the way Some time in the sweet midday of May With a burning inside much brighter Than all the moons combined Instantaneously much lighter So if I flow against the river of time I will surely go with my eyes closed tight fighting for control and insight, against the current, carving wounds onto the soles of my wrinkled feet And if I flow against the river of time, at least I won’t have to watch when my world comes crashing down at least I won't have to watch black as it bleeds blue, right before it breaks in two And I know that if I flow against the river of time I’ll always wish that I had let go instead
