Twelve scores ago

Our Fathers created our home

It used to have thirteen rooms,

Now it has fifty

It was a place where some can be free

Now It’s a place where everyone is free

There were some mistakes that sons and daughters changed

We fought with our neighbors and ourselves

Even through we had our disagreements in the past

We are trying to make peace with the whole neighborhood

Some houses like us; Others don’t

Some Sons and Daughters are still fighting over family traditions

Even all the houses are different in one or more way

We are trying to help every house be welcoming including our own

When the block looks blue, we all look at our Uncle Sam’s Dream

He used to bring the neighborhood fairness and freedom

Now we must help make his dream a reality
