From 280 Miles Away
The Monday morning's outside of school
The Tuesday's sitting in rockband
The Wednesday's we'd sit in the park
The Thursday night's at McDonald's (because the workers are best on that night)
The Friday's baking away in the kitchen
The Saturday's at two in the morning
And the Sunday's when I say "I can' wait to do it all again"
But from 280 miles away, I can't do that anymore.
It's the driving 20 minutes to my house to give me a hug
It's the calls at night making sure I got home safe
It's you promising me that tomorrow would always be better, no matter what my demons told me
From 280 miles away, my demons have started to have more say in my life than I do.
But 280 miles away hasn't stopped you from trying
From 280 miles away, I still get your phone calls
I still get your warm embrace from your jacket
I still get to stay up and worry if you are sleeping well
I still get to bake the things I know you love
I still get the reminder that my demons mean nothing compared to your love
Because I love you, 280 miles away doesn't seem so bad afterall.
At 280 miles away, everyone can see that we can handle my demons together
No matter how far apart.
