3 Kids

My sisters fight

with each other nontheless.

All day and night

but each feels oh so hopeless.

Two hundred pounds.

They have always been heavy.

Kids made rude sounds.

Even told them to levy.

Bullied for years.

What could they possibly do?

Burst into tears

and find friendship somewhere new.

To no avail

What could make a kid's life worse?

Mom setting sail

and leaving us feeling cursed.

Then she was gone.

Already found a new man.

Somehow it dawned

that she was pregnant again.

We were replaced.

We were no longer her children.

How could they face

the emotions that filled them?

They were twelve then

and adolescence is rough.

Underspoken

but they try to be so tough.

And no matter

what they do or say or feel,

they are sadder.

Depression becomes more real.
