Dear God

I want to be close to you, but I feel so far away.

I want to be made whole through you, but I feel enormous shame.

Alone, I'm weak and filled with anguish. With each day I grow farther.

But I know I need You, I know I want You, I know I am your daughter.

You speak to me through others, but I choose not to listen.

And every day i do so, I feel that something is missing.

I want to change and be like You, so I grant you permission.

Enter my heart. Remove what's dark. Help me learn to listen.

I'm sorry for my wrongs, Lord. I'm sorry for my sins.

Here and now, I evict Satan and ask You to move in.

Create in me a clean heart, God. Renew my shattered spirit.

Help me to do more than speak your Word, guide me so I can live it.

I'm crying out to you, Lord Jesus. Screaming with all my might.

I want to join and walk with you, be bathed in holy light.

Please...please...I know I've sinned. I admit that I've done wrong.

I give myself to you so I can sing a different song.

I know already that you love me in spite of my stubborness.

You've shown me grace and mercy, Lord. Knew me before I existed.

You sacrificed your Son for me. Freed me from myself.

But I still feel so far away. I'm still in need of help.

Help me come back to you, lord. Help me come back home.

Because even when I'm around friends and family,

Without you, I'm practically alone.
