3.14.2019 (she > you)

you begged me to let you go
i pleaded you to let me stay

i enclosed my fist around your mind with the intent of holding on forever
and you pushed me down
but when i got back up, i ran to you

this time i wrapped my arms around your heart
but every beat made me lose grip
and i fell
but when i got back up, i ran to you

this time i held pinkies with your soul
but i tripped on my tongue
and lost your touch
but when i got back up, i ran to you

you see, i always came back
no matter how poorly i was treated by you
but she made me realize my worth
im not going to sit around and wait by your side while you obsess over others
and then lean on me when you come down from your high

so when you reached for my hand
and i dropped it,
that was me finally taking your advice

that was me finally letting you go
