I needed you stick around For when I was starting to drown But you decide to be a clown That clown I only see in my nightmares A clown that only got jokes because you're "love" is a hoax But we don't even gotta call it that See there's a difference between someone you can laugh at them someone you can laugh with And I admit sometimes I do think of love as a myth But I still like to think that love's the one thing you can't change I think it's this kind of strange, Abstract idea, that man came up with while he was high High above us Because it's the one thing you can't exchange, Wait but don't interrupt me, I think I'm onto something I think that if we all dig a little deeper Using more than a twig Then maybe we could think like that man But then again what do I know? I remember asking my cousin about her ex, and she just simply said "love ends." And I sat back thinking that can't be it Love can't end, it's one of the only things worth fighting for Love can bend All the rules, Love can't sink, Just like trying to blink back an ocean can't work because that ocean has to flow it can't be held back, you can't take a train off its track Just like you can't take love off its course true love can't end. It can't because then what do men have to live for? Shopping at the store? Browsing on their phones? Eating ice cream cones? Because they decided that the ice-cream was too sweet That'll be when I believe you, when kids stop eating candy, when moms stop baking cakes, when dads stop throwing the football around I'll believe love ends When the bond between a mother and a daughter can't mend again I'll agree when you say true love isn't real When I can't enjoy another meal with my father But until then I know true love is real And I know it can heal even the worst souls So you still have hope But since I know you don't give not one shot about what's real then you can go and live off your dope and never learn how to cope like a big boy So you know what keep being societys toy Like someone smart once said "to tell you the truth I don't listen to you cuz I don't like being lied to" And since that's the only thing that comes out of that black hole in your face And since you haven't used your brain since the iPhone 6 came out You can go and try to steal someone else's soul See unlike everybody else I know that you don't eat the forbidden fruit So you can go and persuade someone else to take a bite out of your poisened apple Need I remind you my name isn't Snow White but that doesn't mean im not the princess in this story I'm just a smarter princess that has a cuter name That might sound vain but in this day us girls need to learn how to have some confidence So stop listening to the world telling us How to be and what to do and what to say and how to say and how to think and how to act and what to write and how to write That's why you got the music sounding the same That's why you got some of these artist spitting the same words over and over Now if I'm honest I have no idea how to end this poem but I hope that you saw what I wanted you to see and no sweetie I'm not telling you what to be I'm just letting you know that who you are now should be who you want to be not who he told you he liked, So princess Put your shirt back on Pull your pants back up Grab your shoes and leave Stop trying to be the slut of your story because you know better than anyone that no one cares about your dares And you, you are a princess (no matter what your tryna fake) so gp ahead put your crown back on its been lonely at the bottom of your MK purse.
