3am

The street is illuminated

With the moon’s soft glow

The cool air is soothing on my skin

As I stare out the window

Alone without judgement

And time to reflect

No one can tell me I’m wrong

Amd my tired eyes defy my lively mind

As a lone bird cries its song

The crickets all chirp

And a fox prances through the yards

Hunting its prey

A car drives past

And disturbs the peace

It is soon restored

As the car grows faint

Everything will be okay

Nothing can go wrong

At least for now

But then the next day comes
