'Why do they look so serious?'
Julia and I look up at the seniors
"don't smile, we'll fit in"
our straight faces break; fits of laughter follow.

"Why are they so annoying?"
Julia and I roll our eyes at the new freshmen
"they're so loud for no reason"
we mimic them; soft chuckles follow.

"Why, just why?"
Julia and I are juniors
"I've never been so stressed, so numb"
we don't notice our surrondings; silence follows.

"Why do they look so serious?"
Julia and I look down on the new juniors
"they don't realize how fast it'll go by"
we lost sight for a bit; but we found our own paths to follow.
