Bearing the bad news,

Coping with reality,

Prayers sent to God.

Ready for the fight,

Accepting what is to come,

Starting the journey.

Surrounded with love,

Support stands at each corner,

Hand in hand we stand.

One important date,

April eleventh arrives,

Waiting room is full.

The worry kicks in,

The clock seems to tick slower,

Will Mom be okay?

Six slow hours pass,

God has answered our prayers,

She won the battle.
