5 AM Sunrise

The sun is rising over you

All I can do is watch.

The colors build on top of you,

And I'm drowning in them.

I can't wake you from where I lie,

All I can do is watch.

With each vivid stroke

I suffocate a little more

But never would I rouse you from your peaceful slumber.

When full day comes, I'll be so beautiful;

Ready to please you with every inch of my leaden soul.
