The 5 W's of Us

Who was I before you?

Just another, no one

Now that you love me, too

Perhaps I am a someone

What is this taste upon your lips?

Someone would call it delight

But I know once the sun dips

It is the flavor of goodbye and goodnight

When did “you” and “I” turn into “we?”

I think it was last December

Or maybe it was always so-like destiny

Nevertheless, you kiss me again, and I can’t remember

Where do you start and I begin?

Two green eyes reflected in two green eyes

Then the warmth of your skin on my skin

Not yet the end, cue the butterflies

Why should I ever want for more?

Of all the things I could accrue

I have everything I ever hoped for

Because, honestly, all I need is you.
