50 Cents
As I sit on the floor and this blood drips from my arm, I want you to know you're not alone
We all find different ways to cope and I want you to know that with every stroke ..
Of that razor, that I raised ya, to be a better man than me
I know it makes no sense, since your daddy's smile brought happiness ..
But here's a glimpse of the world they're not giving you
A glimpse of the world they don't tell you in school is possible
You won't be at your highest ever, throughout every weather
So you'll just have to find a way to cope with it
Roll up some weed, pour some Henny or FaceTime your friends .. just talk, like Oprah did
Daddy couldn't do that and he just wants you to know
That when you look down, and those arm scars show ..
That there's art in being hurt
And these scars they hurt, he wishes he never put them there but it's done now let's move on to dessert
He smiled in all the pictures and hugged all the people
But when he went home it was just another sequel
Another night in the bathroom killing himself with 50cents
50cents it what papi from the deli charged him, all to fix his wrist
I hope you gather what I'm getting and collect all the pieces
I know I said dessert and after this you can get your Reece's
But I need you to relax and sit back because you need to know that
Daddy was depressed and he reached a point of no going back
A point of seclusion when he was surrounded by the world
And a point of depression when he lost his favorite girl
She was .. One in a million and her vibe made it feel like a trillion
Dollars were in his pocket cause if she wanted it then daddy got her but um ..
The point I'm trying to make its that they'll tell you your not alone
Until 4:17 am hits, Wednesday morning and you find yourself on the bathroom floor with a box cutter and a phone
You'll have these memories of daddy and I know you'll probably see them through the arm scars
But it's like, son, the way I'm feeling right now .. I don't know if i'll make it this far
So just .. Grab the keys and run to the car
Cause if you run now, you'll make it real far
