6 years

for 6 years see me stride up to a premature woman,

Each time chocolate skin Upon lips begin to speak words that direct my focus upon her,

Hello,

 I ask her,

Tell me again how you came to be,

With an absentee you call your father and a mother who....

Oh theres no time for that?

Well then express to me how,

over the years,

your tears Have accumulated to a degree that you swim in your dreams and wake up to drown.

Or how your guardian should rather choke you with chains then put the restraints he does on your creativity.

No?

Ok then hows your sex life?

For 6 years see me ears wide listen to every man thats put his hands on you,

Listen to 6 years of hugs

 5 years of kisses

4 years of introductions and dismisses

3 years of sex

 2 years of drugs

and 1 year that of which will not be mentioned.

But wait, how are you in school?

Elaborate on how each boy you pick up drops another letter grade.

Or how you were almost kicked out of...

No time for that? Ok cool...

For 6 years see me touch your mind and feel every bruise your self concious inflicts upon itself.

Ive felt the hurt that several lashes on each side can bring.

I can feel how those lashes please your internal because youve conformed to external views.

May i ask why?

you are blue because youre not yellow when you were born to be brown...

I don’t understand how,

You can live life resembling a dull knife when you have so much potential,

You’ll improve now?

I see now you’ve been sharpening your mind so you can make your point but,

How do you plan to cut away from those 6 years?

You’ll need 6 years of focus

5 years positive change

4 years of actions that will rearrange

3 years of apprehension

2 years of conviction

And 1 year of….

It’s up to you if you want to listen,

To me voice how I am willing to help you,

Understand, I who, after 6 years of attempted CPR have no breath left to waste,

I don’t want to you to taste how bitter life can be when

you receive life’s lemons and realize the only drink you can make is ice tea,

I love you, so listen to what I have to say

Before you’re alive another 6 years,

Not living,

Alive another six years striding to me still, a premature woman.
