The 60th Anniversary Poem

A moment punctuated by a kiss - takes me back to when I was young

A smile that I wear with my finest outfit

Eyes that seek out the sunlight on a cloudy day

The flowers that grow outside our windows

Dancing to our favorite songs

The birds are soaring overhead

The life I chose to be by your side

When you needed me most, I am there.

We hear the sounds of church bells

How they ring and bring us back

To the Day - we said our vows

The highest highs and the lowest lows

We have made it through them all

Holding hands - we made our promises

Lace and silk are soft to the touch

Eyes meet and we are thankful

There is a star

That we gazed upon and our arms reached out in an embrace

We danced underneath the stars

All of our lives - we stood together

On the rock of our devotion

Where it could not be swept away

The wise couple built their house upon the Rock

They pray to God that those in Heaven could see them now

Smiles punctuated by a kiss

A moment that we will never forget

Because we are together

Then, now, and always

Forever
