690million

What makes such a number?

One must wonder,

What will make a number so

Big

Perhaps the animals of the world

Perhaps the fish of the sea

Or perhaps something

Else

Perhaps the children

Perhaps the women

Perhaps the men

All begging for more

More of what keeps them alive

More of what we take granted

But what don't they beg for?

That's the question i seem to ask

Maybe the don't want to beg

Maybe they don't want to be discrimmsnted

To hurt

To starve

But it's all they have left

Living by the morsels that come through the door

Crying while they watch their families

Nothing left to console them

For even the farmers

Who make and watch food, but never eat

Who hope to steal a tiny bit

Just enough to stay alive

So i guess what i'm trying to say

Or to represent

Is a simple plan

One where all get food, because we have enough to do so

But maybe not

Maybe not

Because 690 million is just a number

right?
