I cry

Because I’m grieving

Because the cycle of regret in my head is a killer.

Why didn’t you just…

You should have known…

You messed up again…

And there’s nothing you can f**king do about it!

I grit my teeth

Because I’m angry

Because there’s a teakettle

Ready to explode inside my chest and

With every steamy squeal my pillow

Gets hotter, and wetter.

I pant

Because I’m f**king exhausted

Because my thoughts can

Out-exercise even me and

They feed off of my starvation.

I scream!

Because I’m caught

Because I know this mess like

I know every contour of my body

And I face the choice-

Clean one or destroy the other.
