7th Floor
I Live on the 6th floor
In a building with no 7th
but neighbors tell each other
the truth the 7th floor.
I can count and I can see,
yet I'm the crazy one
for saying there isn't a 7th floor.
On the 6th floor
across from me
an old man lives
that loves the same but younger
other neighbors know of his papers
but talk to him
because he knows there is a 7th floor
on the 6th floor
next to me
a woman lives
that took her husband
and pointed to another
our neighbors know of the knive she keeps
but talk to her
because she knows there's a 7th floor.
On the 6th floor
down the hall from me
a boy lives
who can't be older than 17
and the neighbors know that if we looked
we would find our things with him.
But the neighbors talk to him
because he knows there's a 7th floor.
Alone I live on the top floor
Where I know there are no upward stairs
and my own ceiling is the highest one.
But no one talks to me
because I know there is no 7th floor.
