9-5

"9-5"

by Julian Crockett

Sometimes Life feels like a drag

I think I’d rather do without

Sometimes everyone’s a nag

I’ve gotta find a way out

Reality lookin like it sucks

I’d rather live in my own head

People working to die for a couple of bucks

They wake up, work, then go on to bed

This can’t be what life is

I refuse to live like this

People working their lives away

But I say

What’s the point of living if you’ve got no time to play

What’s the point of living if you just work till your grey

Life is so much more than a 9-5

If you just open your eyes

And spread your wings to fly

If you follow your dreams and reach for the skies

Then maybe you won’t have to work that 9-5

And maybe you won’t have to work to die
