97 Days in Cali

3:21 AM in Miami.

12:21 AM in LA.

And I miss your touch.

I miss my bum resting against your thigh, as I listen to you breathe slow, deep, soothing breathes that fill the air,

As I fall asleep next to you.

I miss you turning over in the middle of the night,

Disturbing my sleep to place your body snuggly and perfectly against mine to lay your right arm in the valley of my waist, encasing my body in yours, making me feel me so safe,

Allowing my soul to drift away into a much deeper, a much calmer sleep than before.

I miss kissing your cheeks,

Your smooth hairless cheeks that remind me of the cheeks belonging to an infant.

So smooth and innocent like the girl I used to be, as if the old me rises from within to kiss you every single time I press my lips against those cheeks...

Those smooth hairless cheeks.

97 days left without kissing those cheeks... 97.

Three less than 100, but 97 days.

3:46 AM in Miami.

12:46 AM in LA.

I miss touching your rough beard,

Feeling each strand of coarse hair between my thumb and index finger,

As if I'm slowly running a bow repeatedly across one string on a violin, playing the same tune, our tune.

The tune that plays so loudly when we're together in a room full of silence.

There is no sound, yet when I lay my head on your bare chest and place that hair in between my thumb and index finger,

I hear that same tune, our tune.

I feel that bass thumping...thumping real hard,

Within my chest,

Within my soul,

Running through my veins,

Seeping through every fiber of my being,

As if I hit a joint too hard and upon the release of smoke, and the inhalation of fresh air into my poisoned lungs, I feel the THC take my body so high, to a place my sober my mind could never reach...

So high, it mirrors a utopic world, as if no worries existed in that moment.

Nothing else but you and I and me and you,

Not even the thought of the approaching three months we shall suffer 2,745 miles apart.

97 days left until I my heart must no longer have to ache for your touch.

Three less 100, but 97 days.

4:18 AM in Miami.

1:18 AM in LA.
