spoken word

a disorder

a disorder will take everything from you first your thoughts then your happiness then everything else a disorder teaches you to measure your worth in numbers that are never low enough turns mirrors into enemies and hunger into something you’re proud of until you forget you were never something to fix a disorder whispers that smaller is safer that disappearing is control that empty means strong even when your body is begging you to stay a disorder steals your energy your laughter your ability to just exist without calculating every piece of yourself until one day you realize it never wanted to make you better only quieter it didn’t save you it erased you.
